From Oil to Renewable Energies
Today we are the leading business in the Italian wind power sector and one of the biggest in Europe, and we play an important role in the country’s energy transition process.
Our complete conversion to totally green sources in the last ten years hasn’t altered our DNA: our business experience has proved crucial in enabling us to establish ourselves in the renewable electricity market and make the dream of a sustainable future a reality in the here and now.
We have radically changed our business portfolio, anticipating longterm energy scenarios and achieving a leading position in renewables not only in the Italian market but also in Europe.
Following the start of our industrial transformation from Oil to Green in 2008, we have become a leading independent producer of electricity from renewable sources in Europe.
Following the sale of the hydroelectric business and the reaching of an agreement for the sale of the thermoelectric business, the Board of Directors of ERG approved a new 2022-2026 Business Plan aimed at reinvesting resources from disposals and confirming the growth strategy in renewables through a policy of geographic and technological diversification and the gradual securing of revenues.
We attribute great importance to our people given the fundamental role they play in the development and management of our business. They represent the Human Capital that makes the difference and characterises the Group’s #GreenEnERGyMakers.
In 2022 we had 573 employees, considering in Italy and abroad.

The expertise, qualities and training of our people are important assets for us: these factors represent the crux of our competitiveness and industrial dimension.
The concept we like to associate with people is that of Human Capital, which interprets the value of a person as capital, an asset rather than a resource that is consumed.
ERG’s Human Capital is founded on our talents, our skills and our relationships. None of the results we have achieved would have been possible without the full contribution of our People.

Innovation must be the basis of sustainable development, hence ERG has introduced the Innovation Projects Department which reports directly to the Chief Operation Officer. Its aim is to coordinate cross-cutting innovative projects within the organisation, monitoring the markets and technological solutions of greatest interest to the Group and identifying innovative opportunities with the greatest potential in terms of profitability and sustainability in the short and medium term.
